My Deepest Desire

"The couples that are 'meant to be' are the ones who go through everything that is meant to tear them apart and come out even stronger than they were before."

Sometimes I forget I have a wedding to plan.
Other brides and newlyweds sometimes sing a frantic chorus about invitations, flowers, colors, shoes, dresses, linen, glasses, napkins and I stare icily at them. Huh?

Errr..., I'm having a ball inside my dreams with my fiance of our marriage and children. I don't get into all that wedding hype, especially knowing we do not wish to spend all that money on one hot day. We refuse.

Besides, who wants to talk about a pricey wedding all day when you are fancying the precious moments with the Husband-to-be? They say, if you want something to last forever, you'll treat it differently. And that is exactly how I treat my precious relationship with Reggie. Our partnership is so indescribable. I guess, I am having too fun much planning the marriage with my best friend than the wedding.

Last night, Reggie took to me on our surprise date to see The Nutcracker Ballet at the Detroit Opera House. I must say, the best part of our magical night was witnessing him really enjoying the ballet! It was such a joyful site to see! Afterwards, we went to dinner and flirted all night. These are the little moments where I am engulfed with mountains of joy from spending time with my best friend.

While enjoying the holiday glee with frost and cranberries, I've noticed how July is well on her way. With our genius Wedding planner, I am yielded from the wedding stress that I was warned about. Our planner is passionate, precise, organized and honest. And we have conversations that can last for days! And guess what! Hey now! I actually get excited talking about the wedding with her! With our planner's assistance, I am much more excited of planning such an extravagant event. See, I do smile about this thing. You better remember this!

But when you are this in love with someone, you don't really think about waltzing down with flowers or spending hundreds of dollars on ridiculously overpriced wedding cake that no one eats. You rather dream about your secret garden of nights of endless chatter and kisses.
Am I that distracted?
I guess I am too busy being in love with this guy. I want to be a happy bride, but I rather be a happy wife.
All in all, I just want to have a marriage more beautiful than the wedding.
Please do not get me twisted. I am looking forward to getting dolled up and walking down the aisle in the most gorgeous dress I could ever dream of, meeting my handsome Heaven-Sent Husband at the altar. I am just more focused on the day with him and God after the party. Is that wrong?

We've been through too much to fantasize about stupid wedding favors and hideous cake toppers.

And, I haven't picked out The Dress yet. I'm on it. I promise. ;)

Where is my dress?

I thought shopping for a wedding dress would be fun! But for me, finding the perfect silhouette has ripen into a daunting journey. More like a nagging leg cramp. I mean, I have the perfect guy. I just need the perfect dress.
This should not be rocket science, folks. It is just a dress. For the party! The wedding! That's all it is. Right?

I have pranced around in plenty of luxurious wedding dresses. Just beautiful and ravishing! But not one dress has truly stolen my heart. Every time I walk in a bridal shop and try on dresses, an ambush of compliments soar through the fitting room. "Oh, your body looks great in all of these dresses!" Or "You should be a model for bridal gowns." And "You have the perfect body for this dress." Mmmm... thanks. But I need to find THEE DRESS! Who has time to think about modeling when they have to find the perfect dress?

There are so many lovely styles to choose from!
But, honestly, some of these dresses are dreadful.
Just a waste.

Ugly. Very.

Girl, boom.

Alright, there are beautiful dresses, I promise.

Gown features Swarovski crystals.

Gown features beading, lace, and waistband.

Gown features embroidery and waist sash with flower.

I know that "Thee Dress" is not a tool of joviality for a marriage. Nevertheless, I need to find a pretty dress that truly represents me for our special day. Considering the fact that I am very picky, I am guilty for making this experience a bit more overwhelming than it really is. One day, Thee Dress will take my breath away. I am thrilled in knowing that I am closer to finding her. Until then...

I rather take a nap.

His heart keeps calling me.

On July 6th, 2013, I will be walking down the aisle to join The Honey in Holy Matrimony. The dream that constantly plays over and over in my head. Until then, I just have to wait and enjoy the perks of preparing for a new chapter. A new paradise.

There is no time to spare in this Universe. Every second is a heartbeat closer to dreaming my dreams with him.

Every since I met The Honey, I feel myself bloom physically, spiritually and intellectually in the beautiful sea of life.

Many of you know that Honey and I do not have the ordinary love story. It began with a nightmare, starring Cancer. But Reggie and I survived. We are still surviving.

I must tell you, the moment I looked into his eyes as he laid on his death bed, my life changed. Our friendship thrived on our Faith. That nasty storm deepen our relationship and circled the core of our Faith. Reggie's battle with brain cancer changed my attitude and redirected my thinking. Prior to meeting The Honey, my priorities were scrambled around. I was spiritually imbalanced.

But through the surgery, chemotherapy, radiation and the transition of a new life together, we stretched our hands to Thee. And every night and morning, we thanked our Savior. And we continue to do so.

I never expected to be in the relationship that I am in. But The Honey swept me off my feet and that was the beginning of Our Love Story.

Stay tuned.
